Mr. Black is a senior associate at Fiala & Weaver P.L.L.C. Mr. Black is a registered patent attorney whose practice involves all aspects of intellectual property, including preparation and prosecution of U.S. and international patent applications, as well as invalidity and non-infringement analyses for licensing and legal opinions.
Mr. Black has experience in the electrical, computer, and mechanical areas, including semiconductor devices and fabrication, telecommunications, computer networks, computer products, and software applications. Mr. Black has also prepared and prosecuted patent applications for seizure detection and mitigation.
Mr. Black was formerly an associate at Williams, Morgan & Amerson PC, where he joined as a patent agent during law school. Prior to law school, Mr. Black worked in the computer industry as an ASIC Engineer performing design and verification for N-way Itanium-based servers, and as a Design Engineer for a mobile video surveillance company.
During law school, Mr. Black was a student editor for Patstats.org, and he served as a Sr. Articles Editor for the Houston Business and Tax Law Journal. During undergraduate school, Mr. Black served on the Student Engineers’ Council and was a National Merit and Presidents Endowed Scholar.
